What You’ll Do:
• Manage and mentor a team of Accounting Clerks, empowering them to excel in their roles while fostering a culture of collaboration, development, and accountability.
• Oversee the complete accounts payable process, ensuring timely, accurate processing of invoices and payments. Identify areas for continuous improvement and implement strategies to streamline processes and enhance team productivity.
• Work closely with internal departments to ensure alignment and drive seamless financial operations.
• Actively contribute to the development and execution of initiatives that improve financial controls, reporting accuracy, and overall department performance.
• Constantly evaluate our accounting operations to introduce new solutions, implement best practices, and stay ahead of industry trends in a rapidly changing business landscape.
• Process and oversee sales/use tax, quarterly excise tax, and other franchise required reporting
• Monthly production of Profit & Loss statements, maintain Balance Sheets, bank reconciliations, and all licenses and permits
• Monthly maintenance of fixed asset records supporting depreciation, location inventories of fixed assets, and property tax renditions
What You Bring:
• At least 5 years of experience in accounts payable or accounting roles, with a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial processes, and compliance.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience managing or supervising teams, with a passion for coaching and developing people.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, MS Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with multi-unit accounting is a plus.
• A strategic mindset with a track record of identifying issues and implementing effective solutions in a dynamic, changing environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with vendors, team members, and senior leaders, with the ability to influence and motivate.
