Civil Engineer

Job Description

Our client is a highly respected, engineering firm in Flowood, MS seeking a Civil Engineer to join their Site Development team. This role works closely with private clients, architects, and contractors on a wide range of commercial and residential projects throughout Central Mississippi.

This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on design work, project ownership, and seeing their plans come to life in the field.

 

Duties:

  • Design and manage site development projects, including grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway layouts
  • Perform water flow and stormwater calculations, including detention and retention pond design
  • Create and revise civil construction plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Coordinate with private clients, architects, contractors, and municipalities
  • Support permitting and regulatory approvals
  • Provide construction phase support, including site visits, RFIs, and plan revisions

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • 2–5+ years of site development experience
  • Strong experience with:
  • Water flow & stormwater systems
  • Retention & detention pond design
  • MUST HAVE: AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Experience working with private clients, architects, and contractors
  • EIT or PE is a plus
