Summary: The Insurance Operations Coordinator plays a central role in managing insurance-related processes and supporting compliance, performance, and service standards across the company’s retail network. This role supports the strategic delivery of insurance services by evaluating customer needs, coordinating with store personnel and carriers, and ensuring that policy transactions and procedures are executed efficiently and in alignment with underwriting guidelines and company policies.
This position exercises discretion and independent judgment in selecting coverage options, addressing non-standard situations, and coordinating policy lifecycle activities. It also serves as a resource to both customers and store leadership on insurance requirements related to manufactured home sales and deliveries.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Review and evaluate customer risk and eligibility to generate and recommend appropriate insurance quotes, based on underwriting criteria and available carrier options
• Serve as a primary point of contact for retail store staff and customers on insurance-related needs, including policy options, required documents, and delivery readiness
• Communicate with customers regarding policy questions, claim referrals, renewals, and coverage clarifications
• Bind and finalize insurance policies for homes being delivered to customer property, ensuring all necessary approvals and documentation are in place
• Oversee assigned renewal business by reviewing expiring policies, generating updated quotes, and coordinating renewals directly with customers
• Analyze and respond to carrier and store inquiries regarding policy status, compliance, and exceptions
• Maintain and improve insurance operations workflows, including documentation standards, quote processing, and renewal tracking
• Serve as a liaison with insurance carriers to resolve escalated issues, request exceptions, and interpret underwriting updates
• Identify process improvements and assist in the development of standard operating procedures for insurance processing
• Collaborate with the Retail Operations and Compliance teams to ensure insurance protocols align with company and regulatory requirements
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in insurance coordination, underwriting support, or client services
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and apply judgment in a deadline-driven environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with insurance management systems or CRM platforms
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred:
• Insurance license
• Experience in the retail side of the manufactured housing industry
• Familiarity with manufactured housing and home insurance products
