Job Description


An exceptional opportunity to join a rapidly growing CPA firm based in Madison, MS! The firm is seeking a dedicated individual with a strong background in both individual and business tax services for a partner-track CPA position.  Revenue sharing and bonuses based on productivity are available in addition to salary.


The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills to assist in the management of client relationships and staff, has meticulous attention to detail, and a knack for adapting seamlessly to shifting deadlines, priorities and client needs. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.
    • Understand clients' business needs and provide strategic tax planning advice.
  • Business Development:
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
    • Expand the client base through networking and marketing efforts.
  • Tax Planning and Consulting:
    • Provide expert advice on tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities.
    • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Tax Compliance:
    • Ensure clients comply with relevant tax laws and regulations.
    • Oversee the preparation and review of complex tax returns.
  • Team Leadership and Management:
    • Lead and manage a team of tax professionals.
    • Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to junior staff.
  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure the accuracy and quality of tax-related work.
    • Review complex tax returns and documentation.
  • Client Communication:
    • Communicate complex tax concepts to clients in a clear and understandable manner.
    • Address client concerns and inquiries.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and manage potential risks associated with tax engagements.
    • Implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Billing and Budgeting:
    • Manage budgets and resources for tax projects.
    • Ensure timely and accurate billing for services provided.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments:
    • Collaborate with audit, advisory, and other departments within the firm.
    • Provide cross-functional support for integrated client solutions.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure the firm's tax practices align with professional standards.

Job Requirements


  • Certified Public Accountant accreditation.
  • 7-10+ years of substantial experience in individual and business taxes.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex tax concepts to clients and team members.
  • The ability to think strategically and provide innovative tax solutions to clients.
  • Public accounting firm experience required.
