Responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions required to produce monthly financial statements for commercial real estate properties. Accuracy and timeliness in the completion of these responsibilities is required. Must possess strong communication skills, good work ethic, and analytical thinking.
Job Responsibilities
• Prepare monthly financial statements for multiple properties
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
• Prepare monthly journal entries and maintain the general ledger
• Assist with preparation of annual operating budgets
• Perform a wide variety of accounting analyses
• Review accounts payable and process checks to vendors for assigned properties
• Prepare common area maintenance, insurance, and real estate tax reconciliations
• Compile monthly financial reporting packages with required supporting documentation
• Explain budget variances on a monthly basis
• Monitor cash balances and recommend capital calls and distributions to/from investors
• Facilitate with CPA Firm for year-end tax returns and K-1 distribution to investors
• Open new bank accounts as needed
• Calculate monthly management fees
• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and lender escrow accounts
• Responsible for periodic reporting to lenders, calculation of debt service coverage ratios, and ensure compliance with lender requirements
• Communicate with Property Management team regarding tenant ledger and vendor payment issues
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred
• 3-5 years work experience preferred
• Ability to analyze financial statements is absolutely required
• Ability to read and interpret lease documents
• Experience with property management software such as Yardi, MRI, etc preferred
• Proficient in the use of a personal computer
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel
• Proficient in Adobe Acrobat • Strong organizational skills; Ability to prioritize duties and meet deadlines
• Ability to give and take direction and to interface with decision makers in a professional manner and maintain confidential information
• Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Ability to work successfully as part of a team environment
• Detail oriented, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, extremely professional, and customer service oriented
