The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately and efficiently handling all incoming and outgoing shipments in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role plays a key part in maintaining inventory accuracy, meeting shipping deadlines, and supporting daily warehouse operations in a high-volume facility.
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against bills of lading, purchase orders, and packing slips
Accurately unload, sort, and stage materials and products
Prepare outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, labeling, and palletizing orders
Generate and process shipping and receiving documentation
Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS) or manual logs
Communicate discrepancies, damages, or shortages to supervisors promptly
Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified)
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory as required
Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Previous shipping and receiving or warehouse experience strongly preferred
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Basic computer skills and experience with inventory or shipping systems
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Forklift certification a plus (or willingness to obtain)
