Job Description

Job Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately and efficiently handling all incoming and outgoing shipments in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role plays a key part in maintaining inventory accuracy, meeting shipping deadlines, and supporting daily warehouse operations in a high-volume facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against bills of lading, purchase orders, and packing slips

  • Accurately unload, sort, and stage materials and products

  • Prepare outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, labeling, and palletizing orders

  • Generate and process shipping and receiving documentation

  • Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS) or manual logs

  • Communicate discrepancies, damages, or shortages to supervisors promptly

  • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified)

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

  • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory as required

  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies

 

Job Requirements

  • Computer literacy 
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Previous shipping and receiving or warehouse experience strongly preferred

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

  • Basic computer skills and experience with inventory or shipping systems

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

  • Forklift certification a plus (or willingness to obtain)
