Seeking a Staff Accountant to join the accounting and finance team with a company in Hazlehurst, MS. The Staff Accountant will manage both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. This role is essential in ensuring the company’s financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant performs general accounting duties in accordance with prescribed procedures and accounting practices.

Essential Job Functions:

• Accounts Payable
• Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Reconcile purchase orders, delivery receipts, and invoices.
• Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries.
• Monitor and resolve discrepancies in billing and payments.
• Accounts Receivable
• Generate and send customer invoices.
• Record payments and reconcile the AR ledger.
• Communicate with customers regarding billing questions or concerns.
• General Accounting Functions
• Process various accounting related reports required by management when required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment interacting with different departments within the organization.
• Performing basic office tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, processing mail, filing, etc.
• Abides by all company procedures and accounting principles.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Skills and Expertise:

• At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Maintains a valid driver’s license.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in AP/AR roles.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or service-based environment is highly desirable.
• Must have a solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Must be able to always maintain a high and relatable level of professionalism.

• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

• Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) is a plus, including managing digital filing systems

 Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with at least three (3) years working in an office environment; Associate’s degree in accounting, business, or related field with at least three (3) years of relative experience is preferred, but not required.
